Turf war in Tamil Nadu police?

If whispers doing rounds among the top police officers in Tamil Nadu are of any indication, a serious turf war is on in the Khakhi circles.  The recent shuffle in the intelligence wing this September seems to be the prime reason behind this turf war .

Many were surprised when T.Rajendran, was posted as ADGP intelligence despite his strong links with the DMK leadership during the previous regime. But the next day, K.Ramanujam, was posted as DGP intelligence...

All of a sudden on 29 September 2011 T.Rajendran was shunted out from the post and AG.Pon.Manickavel was posted as DIG Intelligence... when the intelligence wing already had a DIG Intelligence…Sathyamurthy.  The induction of Pon.Manickavel resulted in Sathyamurthy being completely sidelined.  K.N.Sathyamurthy who was looking after regular intelligence, including political intelligence was allotted with the task of looking after extremists and special division, which is considered as a post without charm.

From day  one, Pon.Manickavel started asserting himself in the intelligence wing, say sources.   Seeing Sathyamurthy as a threat to his unfettered  powers, Pon.Manickavel engineered his transfer out of intelligence wing and made him DIG, Madurai. Well It did not stop there...in an aim to bring Chennai City too under his control Pon.Manickavel made the next move.   R.Nallasivam, who was Joint Commissioner of Police, Intelligence in Chennai city was transferred out.   The post of JC, IS, Chennai city which was hitherto DC, IS was created by the new government expecting heavy workload following the merger of suburban commissionerate with Chennai.

Following the transfer of Nallasivam, the newly created post of JC.IS has now been downgraded to that of the level of Additional Deputy Commissioner and filled up by a Pon.Manickavel loyalist.

Sources in the Khakhi department say... Pon. Manickavel who is deter-mined to retain the post and to be in the good books of Amma has been over enthusiastic.  After the arrival of Pon.Manickavel, the responsibility of sending Daily intelligence reports to the CM has also been taken over by Pon.Manickavel him. DGP Ramanujam, who is a man least concerned by power struggles never objected to Pon.Manickavel sending the reports directly to CM.

Whispers doing rounds that cannot be ignored in TN's intelligence circles is that Pon.Manickavel is taking instructions from M.Natarajan, Sources also say that Natarajan, who is popularly called as MN wants to identify officers in the intelligence wing belonging to a particular and powerful community.

The buzz in the department is that MN had made it clear to Pon.Manickavel that people belonging to a particular community in Tamil Nadu police should be given important postings preferably in Chennai city.  Sources say MN has chosen IPS officers Chockalingam, Masanamuthu and Pon.Manickavel with this task and they are termed as the ‘deadly trio’ among police brass.

MN also desires to make P.Sivanandi as IG intelligence and that is the buzz doing rounds in the corridors of DGP HQ.  But given the attitude of Pon.Manickavel it is likely to be objected by him.

Also Jayashree, IPS, who was relegated to an insignificant post by the present government for her closeness with Pottu Suresh also would be assigned with a good post,as she belongs to that community.

Many senior officers are very uncomfortable with the concentration of so much power on a single man.  They cite the example of the previous government where such a concentration led to disastrous consequences.   Assessing the intelligence wing staff by their community is also not going down too well and it has disappointed many in the intelligence wing.

In the wake of continuous failures on many occasions...men in Khakhi say Chief Minister wants to strengthen intelligence in the state...but these recent developments in the intelligence wing appears to be a matter of concern for many officers and many fear that it could break into an all out war ultimately affecting the performance.

J.K.Tripathy behind Minister’s exit ?

Whispers doing rounds in political circles is that Chennai City Commissioner JK Tripathy, was instrumental in the exit of Senthamazhian from Amma’s cabinet.   Tripathy’s name was doing the rounds for the post of Chennai Commissioner even before the election results were declared. Tripaty had all along been amma’s loyalist and blue eyed boy.

On June 13th night following the declaration of elections results Nungai Maran an ADMK functionary along with party workers were erecting banners in Sterling Road junction. Later the AIADMK workers were having dinner at Hotel Ceylon.   The hotel workers suddenly switched of the lights when the workers were having food.   There was a wordy duel between the hotel workers and the ADMK party workers.

Thirunavukkarasu who was the Deputy Commissioner of Police T Nagar was returning home in his vehicle had reportedly stopped at the hotel and started to indiscriminately beat up the AIADMK workers after downing the shutters.    In the incident Sabapathy and Maran suffered fractures.  Thirunavukkarasu arrested the nearly 6 AIADMK functionaries and took them to the nearby Nungambakkam police station.

With the swearing in ceremony to take place in the morning, Senthamizhan, who was a Minister in the waiting immediately went to the Nungambakkam police station and rescued the party workers.  Thirunavukkarasu is known for his high handedness in beating up people.  He was earlier mired in controversy for beating up the son of a owner of a 3 star hotel.

Following the swearing in ceremony Thirunavukkarasu was shunted out to TSP battalion and within a short period he was given a crucial post in Madurai…

Sources tell whispers that J.K.Tripathy who want to rule the city unchallenged had started a campaign against Senthamizhan and ultimately ensured that he was shown the door. However, Senthamizhan’s exit from the Cabinet has created a flutter in AIADMK circles…and party workers are disappointed because officers are having an upper hand in the present government than the elected representatives.

Mistakes of Karunanidhi & Misfortune of Kanimozhi

With the noose tightening around Kanimozhi in the 2G case…the Grand old man of Tamil Nadu Politics - Karunanidhi is desperate. Sources in the DMK say his desperation has crossed all limits. DMK’s octogenarian president is a worried man. But one mistake after another committed by Karunanidhi is something that has led to this fiasco.

The latest is his statement criticizing judiciary in the wake of denying bail for Kani. In the past Karunanidhi never used to take jibes at judiciary and would carefully avoid criticizing the judiciary.  Criticism of the judiciary would be left out to his Ministers or his perennial stooge K.Veeramani of Dravidar Kazhagam.  But Karunanidhi in a statement has said that  "If courts, one of the pillars of Indian democracy, hesitated to provide legal rights and protect the basics of the law, a question will rise in everybody's mind where Indian democracy is going and about its future.”  This is uncharacteristic of Karunanidhi.  So here is a list of 10 big blunders committed by DMK Patriach that had led to his pet daughter cooling her heels in Tihar.

Mistake No.1

Karunanidhi’s first mistake was to make Dayanidhi Maran as the telecom minister.  When Dayanidhi Maran, was looking after their family magazine Kungumam…He was brought into the party fold and made an MP… hoping that he will act as his father. Karuna claimed that Murasoli Maran was his conscience. Bring Daya into the party raised many eyebrows in the party, But Karunanidhi closed the murmuring mouths by saying that Daya’s talent was known to him even when Daya was a Kid…and finally Daya showed his talent by unsheathing the dagger and stabbing him in his back.

Mistake No.2

Karunanidhi’s second mistake, which is connected with the first one, was choosing Dayanidhi Maran over Kanimozhi.   The offer of contesting as an MP candidate in the central Madras constituency was first offered to Kanimozhi.   But a reluctant Kanimozhi declined the offer.  Had Karunanidhi convinced Kanimozhi and made her an MP and then a Minister, Kanimozhi would have been accepted by his party cadres and Kani would have learnt the ropes in Delhi.   But a delayed planting of Kanimozhi into politics has not only spoilt Kanimozhi’s chances but also allowed the KD brothers to grow into humongous proportions.

Mistake No.3

Karunanidhi’s third mistake was allowing the KD brothers to run riot in the state.   KD brothers slowly and meticulously built their empire on the toil of DMK cadres.   It was KD brothers who made full use of the government machinery and party machinery to advance their interests.  Till the burning of Dinakaran employees, Karunanidhi turned a Nelson’s eye to Marans excesses.  In fact Karunanidhi gave the impression to party’s second level leaders that the both Kala and Daya are no less equivalent to his wards.    The KD brothers using their media power planted stories in leading bi-weeklies, weeklies and fortnightlies about both A.Raja and Kanimozhi.

Mistake No.4

Karunanidhi’s fourth mistake was his patronage to A.Raja.  Even after four generations of money making…Karunanidhi never said no to money that was given by A Raja after becoming Telecom minister. Karunanidhi who was once bitten by Sarkaria Commission should have become alert that such Delhi Money for Karunanidhi would always pose a problem in the future.   Karunanidhi also failed to gauge the cunning Congress in proper perspective.   Karunanidhi underestimated A Raja’s ulterior designs and Congress party’s cunningness. Instead Karuna thought that Congress is always there to help him.

Mistake No.5

Karunanidhi’s fifth mistake was to commence Kalaignar TV.    When the KD brothers were declared persona non grata by Karuna his mind failed to work and his emotions clouded his thinking.  Instead of asking party men to start a TV channel and back the party, a greedy Karunanidhi made his wife and daughter to be the Directors in the TV channel.   No person would dare to disobey the diktat of Karuna, who has the last word in the party affairs.   If government backing is assured to the TV channel, any senior leader in the party would have been more than willing to start a channel.   With so many educationists with Engineering and Medical colleges in Karuna’s party, this would not have been that much difficult.

Mistake No.6

Add caption

Karunanidhi’s sixth mistake was under estimating the 2G scam.  Karuna who used to be a shrewd politician should have seen the writing on the wall.   When the news about 2G scam started leaking in the media, Karunanidhi should never have attempted to defend A Raja and the scam. But on the advice of some of the then state intelligence and party leaders Karunanidhi organized public meetings in support of A.Raja and defended the entire spectrum allocation.   The general public who were already sick of Karunanidhi’s melodramatic lies in the Eelam issue were not ready to buy this suspicious rhetoric. In fact the reverse of what Karuna expected happened.   Street meetings and campaigns in their family televisions about A.Raja’s good deeds had a counter effect which was reflected in the assembly polls. Karunanidhi got carried away by what people around him who made the situation from bad to worse.

Mistake No.7

Trusting congress was Karunanidhi’s seventh mistake.  Karunanidhi who claims to be in public life for more than 60 years failed to assess the wickedness of the congress.   Karuna who was in a comfortable position in UPA.1 failed to enjoy the same clout in UPA.II.   The Congress party which was at the receiving end in UPA.I saw UPA.II as a payback time.     Karuna unsuspectingly fell in a cleverly laid trap by the Congress.   Given the permutations and combinations in the UPA.II Karunanidhi should have been alert when the congress party refused to give the ministerial berths and portfolios required by the DMK.   Karunanidhi’s tantrums of boycotting the swearing in ceremony failed to cut ice with the Congress high command.  Further, Karuna wishfully believed the lip service offered by congress leaders that there was no scam in 2G allocation.   Even Manmohan Singh for a long time had been maintaining that all was well in the spectrum allocation.  But Congress’ act of Judas has landed Kani in a quicksand.

Mistake No.8

Karunanidhi’s eighth mistake was underestimating the Judiciary. After Kanimozhi’s arrest Karunanidhi was advised by his stooges that by engaging Ram Jethmalani they can easily secure bail.  Whispers in the air is that Ram Jethmalani was paid a huge amount and was brought to Delhi in a special aircraft to defend Kanimozhi.   A simple enquiry with any senior lawyer in Delhi’s legal circles would clearly reveal that Ram Jethmalani is not liked by Judges due to his melodrama and rash behavior. Karunanidhi thought that Judiciary was yet another arm of the Congress and it can be easily influenced like the CBI…even now he is attempting to sabotage the court monitored investigations by hook or crook...but his calculations went wrong and now Karunanidhi is facing the wrath of the judiciary.

Mistake No.9

Karunanidhi’s ninth mistake was making Kanimozhi an MP. Kanimozhi who is new to the world of cutthroat politics, lacked the shrewdness of his father.   Kani who was made the Delhi face of DMK after Maran immediately fell into the trap of corporate monsters.   Her association with Nira Radia which opened a pot of gold for Kani and her mother made Kani a greedy woman. After entering into politics Kani carefully severed her literary acquaintances and her circle was filled with sharks like Ravikumar of VCK and Jegath Gasper Raj.   Karunanidhi also made a huge mistake by allowing Kanimozhi to flaunt her strength through the cultural fest Chennai Sangamam with the active participation of Jegath Gasper.   Such activities by Kanimozhi were detested not only by half brothers but also the general public.

Mistake No.10

Karunanidhi’s last but not the least mistake is meeting Sonia, PM and other congress leaders with a begging bowl and seeking help for Kani.   A few minutes thinking with clarity would make Karuna clearly understand it was Congress’ plan all along to shift the entire blame of 2G scam on DMK.     The Congress which had cleverly pushed DMK into this mess would never bail out any of the 2G accused and take the risk of bringing the probe onto its doorsteps.   Taking the Congress head on would have made the Sonia and PM jittery. But Karuna’s attempt to prostrate before the Congress party was nothing but digging his own grave.

Even after all this…the biggest mistake of M Karunanidhi is to believe people around him and trust what they say…DMK insiders say that Karunanidhi is still kept in dark in issues relating to the 2G case…and its clear that the people around him are turning the Chanakya into a clown.

Race for “MIC ONE” begins

Finally the second list of transfers and postings for IPS officers is out…and now temperatures are running high in the Khakhi department…as yet another list is expected anytime soon…and that will be of senior level offices in the department. Whispers doing rounds in the department is that the race has already begun for the top post…i.e “MIC ONE”… Whispers in Tamil Nadu had already reported that the present DGP K.Ramanujam is likely to be relieved of the post of DGP (L&O) and will be asked only to concentrate fully on the State intelligence…as there has been continuous intelligence failure in the past …which resulted in huge embarrassment for the AIADMK government.

Now the actual race to get to the top seat has begun…the main contenders are…

Narinder Pal Singh, a 1980 batch IPS officer
Anoop Jaiswal, a 1980 batch IPS officer
Bhola Nath, a 1976 batch IPS officer ….and
S K Upadhyay, a 1976 batch IPS officer.

Well, who is leading the race…Buzz in the police department is some forces are strongly backing Narinder Pal Singh… But Narinder Pal Singh is an ADGP at present and he could contend to the top job only after being promoted to the rank of DGP.

Anoop Jaiswal IPS
But Bhola Nath who was appointed as DGP by the Election Commission is also trying his luck to head the State Police. Sources close to Bhola Nath say that being the senior police officer in the State he has more chances of leading in the race and also whispers doing rounds in the department is that a strong north Indian lobby is working overtime to ensure that Bhola Nath becomes the next DGP. Allegations against Bhola Nath are also being heard inside the police headquarters…as it was reported in the media that he had links with an accused in a CBI case.

Narinder Pal Singh, a 1980 batch IPS officer could also be the lucky one to head the state police force. He is an officer who raised many eyebrows within the department by filing his property returns with the Ministry of Home Affairs. Narinder Pal Singh is the only officer in the Tamil Nadu IPS cadre, who has created history in recent times to hold not even a single immovable property, according to his property returns submitted to the MHA. However, sources say the now it’s being subjected to verification and also sources say others in the department are also trying to dig for more details…this cross checking is done to ensure everything is clean…so that it should not create any embarrassment for the AIADMK government in the future.

S K Upadhyay, a 1976 batch officer is yet to be promoted to the rank of DGP…while his batch mates have been promoted and appointed as DGPs. Upadhyay’s fortunes are yet to see the light of the day and this is because he was made a scapegoat by the DMK to escape from the infamous “Phone Tapping case”…Khakhi sources say once the phone conversations were leaked in media Upadhyay was victimized by the then DMK government…as the then Chief Minister Karunanidhi was rattled when he heard the then Chief Secretary L K Tripathy and the then Vigilance Director S K Upadhyay discussing DMK government’s ulterior design to fix the present Chief Minister Jayalilathaa in the Kodanadu Estate case. Sources say despite mounting pressure on him to implicate Jaya in Kodanadu Estate case…Upadhyay did not yield to the pressure is something that  the AIADMK government seems to be considering as a valid reason for his appointment. The buzz is also that DGP Ramanujam, has personally suggested Upadhyay’s name for the top job.
Ramanujam IPS and Bhola Nath IPS

In order to save their skin…the then DMK Chief appointed a one man commission headed by Justice Shanmugam and S K Upadhyay was found guilty and
was suspended. It is alleged that Upadhyay’s career was spoilt by suspended DVAC employee A Shankar who is alleged to have leaked the conversation…This became a blot on the landscape for Upadhyay. Later on he was sidelined and left in lurch.

R.Natraj,IPS
A departmental enquiry by R.Natraj, former DGP  held the charges against Upadyay as not proved and also held him as not responsible for the leakage.  Though charges were cleared against Upadhyay, the DMK government chose to keep the inquiry pending to facilitate Letika Saran to become the DGP (L&O).  If the charges were cleared Letika Saran would have become ineligible to become the  DGP.

According to the Supreme Court’s judgment in the Prakash Singh’s case only one among the senior most 3 DGPs could be selected for the top job. Next to R.Natraj and K.Vijayakumar, Upadhyay is the senior most person in the State.

As of now the race for the top post in Tamil Nadu police has begun and the participants leave no stone unturned to ensure their success.

Karunanidhi’s nightmare & Congress Game plan

With Kanimozhi’s bail being rejected by the CBI court…the DMK is working overtime to bring her out on bail as soon as possible.

Whispers doing rounds in Delhi political circles is that...the Congress has already decided its strategy to dump the 2G blame on the DMK and to escape unscathed before the next general elections.  While the DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi is not prepared to antagonize the Congress even in dire straits, the Congress is taking this as an opportunity to execute its ulterior designs.

Sources close to Karunanidhi say that he is worried and his worst fear is that the 2G case should not go in the direction which saw the big bull Harshad Mehta, Fake stamp paper king Abdul Karim Telgi and Satyam’s Ramalinga Raju’s case.  In all these scams that rocked the country, though the role of congress leaders could not be ruled out only those who arrested were nailed in the end.

Whispers doing rounds in the DMK circles  is that Karunanidhi even cited the knack with which the congress systematically wriggled out of democratic India’s biggest scam ‘Bofors’. Even now there is a similarity between the Bofors and the 2G scam where the Gandhi family is directly involved.  But meticulously the Bofors case was blown into smithereens by the Gandhi family and all those involved were allowed to go scot free.  In fact the Gandhi family saw to it that the money of their family friend Quottorochi was returned to him in spite of CBI’s objection.

Given the developments,  now the congress party appears to be adopting the same strategy in the 2G case. Karuna, a shrewd and experienced politician now fears that any success of congress’s plan would result in his daughter’s continuous incarceration and a quick conviction.   The reason for Karunanidhi’s desperation to secure the bail of his daughter is attributed to this night mare.

However if whispers are to be believed, Congress is in no mood to save either Kanimozhi or A.Raja and instead want to crucify the DMK ahead of the General elections in 2014.  Congress leadership feels that this will yield results for the Congress’s ‘prince in waiting’ Rahul Gandhi.

Meanwhile, the DMK is also bracing itself for fire fighting...sensing Congress party’s game plan...their first priority is to secure bail for Kanimozhi at any cost and then target CBI special court Judge O P Saini...the latest discussion at Karunanidhi’s CIT colony residence along with the DMK top leaders and legal experts was in the lines of attributing motives to CBI Special Court Judge’s order in rejecting Kanimozhi’s bail.

This was quite evident in the appeal petition filed in the Delhi High court...Kanimozhi has stated that “The Special Court has “erred in its judgment differentiating classes of woman.”  DMK sources say this is just the beginning and when they approach Supreme Court...this will be the key argument and for this they have planned to engage the old horse Ram Jethmalani. Will the DMK be able to succeed in this latest strategy ???

Karunanidhi wants Kani out before December

As the winter season has begun in Delhi…Karunanidhi seems to be a worried lot. Even during his recent visit to Delhi he was not able to stay for more than 2 days because of bad weather…and the 87 year old DMK Chief caught cold and was not able to speak. After first hand experience of Delhi weather…Karunanidhi has instructed lawyers to get Kani out on bail ahead of the actual winter season…as Delhi’s winter is cruel and its chill reaches the bones.

Karuna regrets meeting Sonia

Whispers doing the rounds in the DMK circles is that Karunanidhi is extremely upset about his meeting with Sonia Gandhi during his recent visit to Delhi. This meeting happened just 2 days ago when Kanimozhi’s bail plea was coming up for hearing in the CBI court and there was speculation that whether the CBI will oppose her bail plea or not. But after his meeting with Sonia and Prime Minister…the CBI did not oppose Kani’s bail …triggering fresh speculation in Delhi’s political and judicial circles. As Karunanidhi got the timing completely wrong…a visibly upset Karuna has told some of his senior party leaders that his meeting with Sonia Gandhi could have been avoided.

Karuna not ready to take on congress.

It appears that Karuna has developed a cold feet in taking on the congress.  The DMK which was vociferous in its opposition to the fuel price hike is speaking in a muted tone now.  Speaking on the fuel hike issue TR.Balu on Friday said that the DMK would demand a roll back on prices in the parliament session and the DMK agrees with Mamta.    But speaking to reporters on Monday, the reaction of Karunanidhi was subdued. Karuna said ‘We would not quit UPA and he would always uphold alliance dharma.”   He also refused to comment on Mamta’s reaction. The subdued response is more to do with Kanimozhi’s bail than alliance dharma.

Probe into Anna Centenary Library

Sources say government is contemplating a probe into the purchase of books and construction of the Anna Centenary Library by the previous DMK government.  With the move of Jayalalitha who at any cost want to close down the library being shot down by the judiciary it appears that the government is contemplating probe into the affairs of the library.   DVAC sleuths are directed to collect documents regarding the purchase of books from the library department for making a preliminary verification before going in on full throttle.

Dr.Ramadoss to be arrested in murder case

C V Shanmugam and Dr.Ramadoss
PMK founder and chief Dr.K.Ramadoss, in all likelihood will be arrested by the CBI in connection with murder of Muruganandam, brother-in-law of present AIADMK Minister, C.V.Shanmugam. Following the transfer of the case to the CBI, the premier investigative agency is all set to conduct its investigations in a feverish pace which could result in the arrest of Dr.Ramadoss and his son Anbumani Ramadoss on, charges of Murder.

Last week the Madras High Court had ordered transfer of the, investigation from Tamil Nadu police to the CBI. Muruganandam is a close relative of the present AIADMK Minister C V.Shanmugam and in 2006 he quit PMK and joined, AIADMK. The friction between Dr.Ramadoss and CV.Shanmugam had empty rhetoric by both. CV.Shanmugam, used to personally attack Dr.Ramadoss and his son in public meetings on how they had cheated and betrayed the Vanniyar community.

PMK insiders say Dr.Ramadoss, who is known for his ego, was furious after personal remarks made by CV.Shanmugam in all public meetings, so he had instructed his party men to, teach a lesson to CV.Shanmugam. Based on Dr.Ayya's orders counter meetings were organised by PMK and an open threat was issued to CV.Shanmugam.

On 08.05.2006, there was a clash between AIADMK and PMK cadres in which a few, AIADMK cadres were attacked by PMK men. CV.Shanmugam who visited the spot had, challenged the PMK men to directly fight with him and not to attack his party workers.

On the very next day, an attempt to murder C V.Shanmugam took place in full public glare...in which his relative Muruganandam was brutally killed. An FIR, was registered in this connection  against 15 accused including Dr.Ramadoss, his son Anbumani, Prathiban  and his brother Srinivasan.

However, the investigations never saw the light of the day...as it happens in every high profile case. Police sources say the investigation was deliberately delayed and crucial evidences were tampered. At that time Ramadoss was a crucial ally of the DMK led Democratic Progressive Alliance and Anbumani Ramadoss was the Central Minister. Dr. Ramadoss and his son used all their political connections to sabotage the case, which resulted in  some of the names of accused mentioned in the FIR being deleted in the charge sheet.

PMK insiders say, S R.Jangid, who was the, then IG, Central Zone played a crucial role in erasing crucial evidence in the murder case on the instruction of the then PMK MLA Velmrugan. When one of the prime accused N.R.Raghu in the case filed anticipatory bail the Madras High Court while dismissing  the bail plea passed caustic remarks on the police, for their slipshod investigation.

In 2007, the Court while dismissing the, anticipatory bail petition of N R.Raghu observed “Even after a year and four months the police had cared not to investigate and take appropriate action in, the matter.  If this is the state of affairs in a matter of investigation, then, the public at large will definitely lose faith in the criminal justice system. The case diary speaks volumes about the inaction on the part of the police…The police slept over the matter in spite of the fact that sufficient clue is found in the First Information Report about the role of the accused. The police had not done a proper job for reasons best known to them.”

Despite these stringent remarks, the police never bothered to conduct a proper investigation.   The police continued to sabotage the investigation and tried to,protect NR.Raghu the prime accused.   After dismissal of his anticipatory bail, plea, NR.Raghu was not arrested till he was found dead under mysterious, circumstances. During the investigation Kumaran who was apprehended from the scene of crime had confessed to the involvement of Dr.Ramadoss his son Anbumani in the conspiracy to kill C V.Shanmugam. He confessed that prior to reaching the scene of occurrence the accused went to the house of Dr.Ramadoss and afterwards to the Nelmandi to meet Srinivasan brother of Dr.Ramadoss.

SR.Jangid who as IG, Central Zone had deliberately failed to secure crucial evidence and the vehicles used by the accused were seized only after a lapse of one year. And Jangid ensured that call records of the accused were never collected to establish the conspiracy angle between Dr.Ramadoss and Anbumani and the accused.

After Dr.Ramadoss fell apart with the DMK due to various reasons...being a fence sitter in the Tamil Nadu politics he was lobbying to switch to the AIADMK camp. But the main agenda for negotiation with the AIADMK was to pressurize C V Shanmugam to withdraw the case. But unfortunately it was bad luck for Ramadoss...his plea was rejected by Amma.

With the case now being transferred to the CBI... nemesis appear to be catching up for both Dr.Ramadoss and SR.Jangid who were hitherto enjoying immunity due to their close contacts with power centers.

Now CBI is gearing up to re-investigate the murder case in all possible angles...and its going to be a major trouble for politicians and police officers involved. In this backdrop Ramadoss’s untimely decision to expel Velmurugan from the party would also spell doom as Velmurugan was the main liaison with the police to protect Doctor Ayya. Grapevine has it that Velmurugan is now under the control of State intelligence and is more than willing to spill the beans.

Whispers doing rounds is that the CBI is serious in re-investigating the  case...as the Madras High Court has made these observations..."It was unfortunate that the inertia on the part of the investigating agencies continued whenever high dignitaries were the alleged offenders. “Thus, when allegations are made against high ranking politicians, police officials, jail authorities, etc., the matter shall be entrusted to the CBI."

As of now, the clock is ticking for Dr.Ramadoss & CO.
